Keith Ellison is a Muslim? Hmmmm.
Journalist asked Bush how he was expecting to work with Pelosi, when just yesterday she had called him a liar, a nitwit and dangerous. Bush replied he had been in politics for many years and he knows where campaigning ends and governing begins. He may be underestimating the coherence of goals here; the Democrat leadership has come to control the House of Representatives on a mandate of changing the direction in Iraq. Political expediency aside, I doubt if the insinuation that the war will be handed on to subsequent presidents will go down well with anyone. And I take great umbrage at his general lumping of moi into "the enemy". Seriously, practically yes, it makes the greatest sense to dispense with the individual and deal with the collectivities (much like post Pearl Habour incarceration of Hawaiin Japanese just because they were Japs; effeciency has no morality) because it is most efficient but you can at least watch the rhetoric. At least.

I saw that press conference....and have, frankly speaking, never seen a more stupefied bush! (that, however, does not mean that i think he isnt stupid already)
X: I'm sure his aides in the wings kept on wanting to sweep him out and answer questions in his stead. He is never trenchant to speak but I'm not sure about stupid, when you give someone so much power to stir the world and they USE it in manner of Bush, there has to be another word for them. Stupid seems to attach a sort of passiveness to it and that is not what his leadership has been about.
I'm sure it will find its way on to letterman very soon. Good luck with the fulbright.
Sam: 5-7 years at least is what all the sites say. At least England is only eight hours away. I'm befuddled.
